Right on the heels of Yahoo’s announcement, Telecom Italia just launched Napster Mobile in Italy, MocoNews reports. The service, co-developed by Ericsson and Napster will “give subscribers access to Napster Mobile’s catalog of more than 5 million songs, as well as ringtones, artist images, wallpaper, and other content.”
Napster was an early pioneer in subscription-based services on mobile devices. And like its earlier offerings, the Telecom Italia version can be downloaded to both a subscriber’s PC and their mobile phone, according to the report. Napster Mobile is works directly with Sony Ericsson Walkman series mobile phones.
