Despite the NBC Universal CEO’s recent bizarre statement that mobile isn’t all that important, apparently it’s important enough that the media empire plans to offer 40 mobile Web sites in 2008.
MediaPost has the details on the list, which includes 10 soon-to-be launched sites for shows such as “Saturday Night Live,” “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “Lipstick Jungle,” and “American Gladiators.”
In addition, NBC already runs mobile sites for shows including “Deal or No Deal” and “Biggest Loser” as well as the “Heroes” Trivia and “Create Your Own Hero” mobile games, the article said. To help mobile users find the sites easily, NBC.com will soon launch a send-to-mobile widget on all show sites beginning in February.
