NetGalley Hires New Folks as Community Reaches 100k

Firebrand Technologies, the company that owns the digital galley site NetGalley, announced today that NetGalley now has more than 100,000 members reading its digital books. The company redesigned the site last fall, giving it a new look, making it easier to read on Kindle devices and adding more user tools.

In addition to the growth, Firebrand has also announced four new hires. Steve Rutberg joins Firebrand as the company’s new director of marketing and sales. Rutberg’s resume includes stints at WoltersKluwer Health, Taylor & Francis, Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, Prentice Hall, and McGraw-Hill. Annie Johnston joins Firebrand as content services specialist. Johnson comes to Firebrand from the Independent Publishers Group where she managed the IPG Digital program.

Stuart Evers joins NetGalley as the UK Community Manager, a position based in London. Evers will serve as a liaison to the growing number of UK-based publishers using NetGalley, and will interface with UK users. Steve Manes joins NetGalley’s development team. Manes previously worked at The Children’s Health Fund where he built and managed electronic health records software.
