iPhone 5 Cs and the iPhone 5S are already seeing better sales than the iPhone 5 did last year when it was introduced, according to new data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP).
According to the report, the iPhone 5C represented 27 percent of all iPhone sales during the calendar quarter that ended September 30, 2013, and the iPhone 5S represented 64 percent of sales. Only 9 percent of iPhones purchased during this timeframe were legacy models. Contrasting that with this period last year, when the iPhone 5 was new, only 68 percent of iPhone sales went towards the then new iPhone 5, while 23 percent went to the iPhone 4S and 9 percent went towards the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 5C sales came at the expense of the flagship iPhone 5S, which accounted for 64% of total iPhone sales after the September 2013 launch. In contrast, the iPhone 5 accounted for 68% of total iPhone sales after its launch a year before.
