Dodo.com, a Web 2.0 travel community, has emerged from a two-month closed beta, opening its doors to everybody. Concentrating on international travel, the Website offers many features you’ve come to expect, along with a killer contest.
Among the site’s features:
- personal travel profiles
- get in touch with like-minded travelers
- report your travel experiences in travelogues
- create, and share, individual travel tips
- upload and share travel photos and videos
A point system (referred to as ‘lots’) will give the most active community a member a trip around the world – worth $15,000. For example one travel tip, one video, or one travelogue will generate one lot.
The site is available in German and English and has already received almost 60,000 visitors from 156 countries.
Naming your new travel product after a bird unable to fly or swim is quite ironic. Let’s hope the community has a better fate.
