Remember when Barack Obama announced his VP pick Joe Biden via mobile first? Turns out that wasn’t just a fluke; according to new research from Nielsen Mobile, mobile media is more popular among Democrats than Republicans, MediaPost reports. Here are some more numbers quoted from the article:
- 62% of Democrats use one or more data services on their mobile phones, compared to 55% of Republicans;
- 53% of Democrats use text-messaging, versus 46% of Republicans;
- 17% of Democrats use the mobile Web, compared to 13% of Republicans.
“Though the differences may not seem great, these variations indicate that advertising across mobile channels tends to be more efficient at reaching Democrats than Republicans,” according to the Nielsen report.
