Handset giant Nokia said Monday it is buying Boston-based Enpocket, which creates interactive ads and marketing for cell phones, according to a Reuters report.

The report acknowledged that after some initial hesitation, mobile companies are now making moves into the “potentially lucrative” market, especially now that wireless technology is catching up with the original promises of mobile media.

“”This is a very interesting move. It gives a clear picture of the speed in which Nokia’s new organization is expanding into software and services,” said eQ analyst Jari Honko in the article.

This is just the latest in a series of new Nokia acquisitions and maneuvers in the mobile media space.
