
Subscription-based music services aren’t all that popular with music aficionados; not actually owning your favorite songs somewhat betrays the ethic of the truly musically-inclined. Nokia, which recently launched their Comes With Music service, has found that parents, particularly mothers, have taken a liking to their subscription service due to one of the most unpredictable economic forces known to man: the American teenager.
At CES, representatives from Nokia were touting their service’s appeal to thrifty parents, and also talking up the need for a good recommendation service, especially when the potential catalog of songs is basically unlimited, as in the case of Nokia, which has access to over 4 million tunes.
