NYC Votes Apps Wants to Bring Voting to Smartphone App

The New York City Campaign Finance Board has created a new app called NYC Votes that will bring election information and even potentially voting to the mobile phone.

It’s obviously an incredibly complicated idea, due to issues with voter fraud and accessibility, but if implemented correctly, it could be an interesting option. Imagine not having to wait in line at the polls and being able to submit your vote from the palm of your hand in the comfort of your own home or office.

The app is currently being used as a candidate contribution tool, which is available to all candidates running for mayor, public advocate, comptroller, borough president, and City Council. The idea is to make it easier for the Campaign Finance Board to accept credit card contributions and document those payments. (Via Wired).
