
Since the day he was elected, Barack Obama has been locked in a fight to keep his beloved Blackberry after he assumes the office of the President of the United States. Due to security constraints, the president is not allowed to use such a device.
This has been incredible publicity for RIM, makers of the Blackberry, and all for free. What would a company expect to pay for this kind of endorsement? Marketing experts say anywhere from $25 to $50 million, which would amount to the biggest endorsement deal in history. The fact that President-elect Obama is not paid to endorse the Blackberry lends even more credibility to his devotion.
