OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network has opened up online auditions for its awkwardly named series “Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.”

Anyone interested with getting their own talk show on OWN (and I think there may be a lot of you) can prepare a three minute audition tape and upload it to Oprah.com through June 26.

The site is including a browser based video editing kit as well as tips om making a compelling video from Oprah’s celeb friends, including Will.i.am, Lisa Ling and Peter Walsh.

Visitors to Oprah.com will be voting on the online submissions, with the top five getting flown out to Los Angeles for an in-person audition with Mark Burnett Productions, which will be producing the series for OWN.

There are five categories wannabe TV stars can make audition tapes for: traditional talk show, cooking show, interior design or fashion, health and well being and “wildcard,” which sounds like it will be the most interesting to watch.

So what are you waiting for? Get filming and submit those auditions. Do it for Oprah.
