iphone_leftview-402.jpgOrange, the only mobile operator in France to offer the iPhone (at least legally), sold 90,000 of them as of January 31, a bit over two months after it started selling the highly popular device, Pocket-lint reports.

Before the French government would allow Apple to offer the iPhone in that country, the device maker had to promise that Orange could sell it without requiring an end-user contract. Doesn’t seem like it made all that much difference, though. According to Pocket-lint, 86% of the folks who bought an iPhone took one of Orange’s service plans.
