PediaPress just launched a campaign to print the entire English Wikipedia catalog – a total of 1,000 hard bound books. That’s over 4 million articles from 20 million volunteer writers using $50,000.

The organization intends to donate the books to a very large library after presenting the collection at the 2014 London Wikimania Conference.  The books will need a housing that is at least 32ft long and 8 ft high.

We all know that Wikipedia is huge. The English version alone consists of more than 4 million articles. But can you imagine how large Wikipedia really is?

We think that the best way to experience the size of Wikipedia is by transforming it into the physical medium of books.

PediaPress provides on-demand printing for Wikipedia articles. Their partnership means that proceeds from books printed from Wikipedia articles goes to the Wikipedia Foundation.
