Mobile marketing agency Ping Mobile has partnered with ad-supported content provider Myxer to provide Myxer’s advertisers with new promotions and other marketing solutions. Ping will also resell Myxer’s ringtones and other content to Ping clients.

Ping’s customer base trends towards media outfits, with a major focus on cable TV providers who resell Ping’s services to their advertisers. According to Ping Mobile president Shira Simmonds, Cox Media, its largest client, sought out Ping’s mobile solutions because it needed a new way to entice advertisers. With revenue from TV spots declining and advertisers cutting their budgets, Cox looked for new models and determined that mobile coupons were a good place to start.

Cox Media in Central Florida recently started a mobile coupon campaign with Gator Domino’s an eight-location franchise string of the nationwide pizza chain. Gator Domino’s added a mobile call-to-action in its TV spots that air on Cox as a way to drive traffic to its stores and promote its new Legends pizzas.

The campaign offered a free oven-baked sandwich with the purchase of a large Legends style pizza. After receiving the coupon, consumers were then given the opportunity to opt-in for a chance to win free pizza for a year.

Within the first three days, the campaign drove 66 new customers into the stores to redeem the coupon.

According to Simmonds, Ping Mobile’s clients generally have “very specific requirements for results.” As a full-service agency, Ping will provide as much impact and help as the clients want, and will “hold their hands” if they “don’t know how to handle mobile marketing campaigns.”
