Pinterest Launches Guided Search for the Web

Today, Pinterest announced that it is rolling out its Guided Search feature, something the company has been testing on mobile since April. According to a blog post announcing the news, the feature is to “help you make discoveries and find things you didn’t even know you were looking for.”

Pinterest will suggest other terms and categories based on what a user searches for. The user can then use those suggestions to further refine a search.

The social network is making search more of a focus by moving the search bar front and center. It’s a smart move, considering that the social network is poised to become the destination for visual search. It’s has been moving in that direction recently, especially with the introduction of Place Pins.

If you don’t see it on your Pinterest yet, don’t worry. It’s being rolled out over the next few weeks.
