The company’s last major funding round in May 2012, led by Rakuten, put Pinterest’s value at $1.5 billion.

Although there was talk that Pinterest’s appeal was wearing off, its user numbers have remained strong.

In December 2012, the social scrapbooking site saw more than 28,000, up 55 percent from the month before the Ratuken founding round. A proportionate increase to its valuation puts the company’s worth at $2.33 billion.
