FIFA Sports President Peter Moore has hinted Playfish is planning to release FIFA Superstars for Facebook sometime in the coming year. While details are sparse, we can expect Playfish to apply all their gaming savvy and top producers to come up with an idea that simplifies and socializes the FIFA Soccer experience. This is likely the game that was reported earlier this year as the big EA brand that is coming to Facebook, and will be the first of many EA-Playfish collaborations.
Kotaku reported the story this week and there doesn’t look to be much detail other than the name. We’ll be in touch with EA to get details on the game, but be sure that there will be a trickling of information as journalists all over the web begin to bang on EA-Playfish’s doors.
Playfish has the only popular social Soccer game competitor on Facebook. It’s called Bola and is a game that has a lot of potential. The game includes a real-time soccer game that you play using the arrow keys and allows you to play quick 5 minute games. With each game, you earn money and fans, and that allows you to grow your team and buy new stadiums, buy jerseys, play in tournaments and more. There is a real time mulitplayer aspect where you can play against friends, and the game has 3D graphics for the actually soccer matches. I wouldn’t be surprised if the FIFA Superstars game shares a lot of elements of Bola.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more, in the meantime check out Bola.
