It turns out that the recent surge in political mobile campaigns is reflecting a larger trend online.
MediaPost reports that politics was the fastest-growing Web site category over the last year, along with women’s community sites, with traffic jumping 35%, according to comScore Media Metrix.
Moreover, a Synovate-ClipBlast study first reported by eMarketer found that 24 percent of all age groups planned to get political information on the presidential candidates from online news video. That’s up from 13 percent back in the 2000 campaign we all remember so fondly.
