Kicksend, a social app that lets you privately share photos and videos with your friends directly from your phone, has a new update that lets you print photos for pick up at a local retailer.
Kicksend’s Version 3.0 release, which comes out on December 4th, has a new “Print to Family” tool that lets you order high res images to be printed at retail stores near your loved ones. Essentially, you can take photos with friends on-the-go with your phone and then use your phone to order prints for pick up at more than 15,000 retail locations. So you can print photos in your neighborhood or across the country in your friends’ neighborhood.
This past summer Walgreens introduced an API for app developers to add a similar service to their apps. The QuickPrints SDK tool, which is used by GroupShot, Kicksend, Pic Stitch,Pinweel, and StillShot, lets photo app developers integrate Walgreens’ photo printing service into their apps for printing photos at Walgreens stores. However, Kicksend is unique in offering the ability to send prints to a retailer to be picked up by other people.
