Publishers creating eBooks using digital publishing will increase by 60 percent in the next year. This is according to a new study from Yudu Media.

The company surveyed 173 publishing businesses and found that 2/3 of respondents are planning to develop digital publications for the iPad. Of those not currently developing digital publications for the iPad, almost 50 percent plan to within 12 months. And of those with no plans to develop digital publications for the iPad, their number one reason is, “no demand from readers.”

The survey also found that 85.6 percent of publishers believe that the iPad will have a positive impact on demand for digital magazines and eBooks.
