I haven’t had much time to play with the Touch Pro2 I bought this week. However, I did manage to download and install Qik’s streaming video app for Windows Mobile and test it with the TP2. As you can see, the TP2′s video auto-white balance was blown out at the start of the video showing an initial pinkish-white that transitions from the bottom up until you can see the scene. This isn’t some attempt on my part to edit the video. You can see the auto-white balance at work again when I tilted the TP2 down towards the nearby trees. That segment is the most natural looking of the clip.
The Qik app took what seemed like a minute or two to actually fire up on the TP2. All I saw at first was a dark screen with an indeterminate control in the upper left corner. It was only after a minute or two that I actually saw a camera image and Qik’s on-screen controls. Since T-Mobile only has an EDGE network here, I set Qik to optimize for transmission. I’ll post higher quality videos here after I spend more time working with the TP2 various video recording options.
