Quick on Facebook: “I Think They’re Horrible Invaders of Privacy”

mmm_2-3.gifAfter signing off “Squawk Box” on CNBC, co-anchor Becky Quick joined us the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu podcast today.

She talked about Facebook’s privacy issues — and revealed she’s one of those who recently canceled her account. The reason? “Because I think they’re horrible invaders of privacy,” she said.

She continued: “I think we’ve gotten a little immune to how much information we’re putting out there…Zuckerberg did not answer this head on, and he absolutely should have.”

Before CNBC, Quick worked at the Wall Street Journal, and thinks their online pay model is one other newspapers should adopt. “I think the Wall Street Journal got it right when they started charging people for this…Content is knowledge and the knowledge is worth something,” said Quick.
