ABCNewsLogo.jpgABCNEWS.com set a record for monthly unique visitors in January, totaling 27.4 million, up 24 percent from January 2009, during which President Barack Obama was inaugurated. Video views rose 26 percent compared with December, and the site totaled 218 million page views in January.

ABC News Mobile also kept pace, tallying a record number of page views for the second month in a row, with page views for January up 52 percent versus the prior-year month.

Stories that contributed to the robust growth included the earthquake in Haiti, Obama’s State of the Union address, Investigative Unit reports on secret Bible verses inscribed on military weapons and issues with certain Toyota cars, and 20/20‘s interviews with Andrew Young, former aide to former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.).

ABCNEWS.com added that its 20/20 and Primetime sections posted triple-digit growth in page views compared with January 2009: 186 percent and 148 percent, respectively.
