
Hooray for DRM-free announcements: Rhapsody is now selling unprotected MP3 tracks from its Rhapsody MP3 store along with notable mobile music partners Verizon (under the V CAST brand) and Yahoo. “We’re no longer competing with the iPod, we’re embracing it,” said Rhapsody vice president Neil Smith, according to Engadget.
And here’s an interesting touch: all tracks can be previewed in full before buying them. That means you’re not limited to a 30-second clip that the store decided on. The company is also offering a $10 credit towards your first album when you sign up.
