The London-based company made explicit that it has brought Riley in to lead the company in a forthcoming IPO.

Riley, at left, began at Yahoo in 1999 and most recently served as its executive vice president of the Americas region.

Andrew Fisher will remain as a full-time employee involved in strategy.

“Whilst Rich will run our business I will now spend more time focusing on our corporate development and future strategy including our ambitions to deliver a successful IPO for our shareholders,” Fisher said.

Shazam claims to have 300 million users in 200 countries.
