The London-based company made explicit that it has brought Riley in to lead the company in a forthcoming IPO.

Riley, at left, began at Yahoo in 1999 and most recently served as its executive vice president of the Americas region.

“I am extraordinarily excited to be joining the Shazam team. Andrew Fisher has assembled a world-class organization that has made Shazam a global consumer brand that provides an exceptional consumer experience and has set the stage for the company’s next phase of growth,” Riley said.

Andrew Fisher will remain as a full-time employee involved in strategy.

“Whilst Rich will run our business I will now spend more time focusing on our corporate development and future strategy including our ambitions to deliver a successful IPO for our shareholders,” Fisher said.

Shazam claims to have 300 million users in 200 countries.
