RIP, Twitter Music

Twitter announced the death of its music service app, Twitter Music, using its Twitter account. News of the impending launch has been circulating around the internet since last October – just six months after it was initially released. On Saturday, the eventual demise became a reality. The announcement comes nearly a year after the initial launch of the music service, which lost momentum in a sea of music apps and streaming services. Users who have downloaded the app can continue using it until April 18, 2014, but the app has already been removed from the app store.

However sad the death of Twitter Music may seem, there was a small bit of vague optimism in a second announcement:
