Rovio Planning New ‘Angry Birds’ Sequel From The Pig’s View?

Using a giant slingshot to shoot birds at pigs sure is a lot of fun, but have you thought about how the pigs feel about it?  If the rumor I heard today comes true, you just might.

Pocket-Lint has been told by inside sources that Rovio is working on a surprise sequel to the successful franchise. There aren’t many details yet, but the few we do have are enough to get my attention:

The game, which is expected to be available sometime before Christmas, will feature a number of different pigs and -like the birds in Angry Birds – they will come with different strengths and skill sets.

Although it is not certain, from what we’ve seen, we would hazard a guess that it looks like the idea will be to protect the eggs against incoming birds by firing pigs at them.

Angry Birds has been an immensely successful investment for Rovio. Between the original game and the 3 spinoffs, the apps have seen over a billion downloads.  I’d expect this new app to only expand on that success.

Anyone care to guess what abilities the pigs will have?
