Runner’s World Website Drives Magazine Subscriptions

RunnersWorldLogo.jpgRunner’s World credited much of its subscription growth in the first half of 2009 to its Website. The Rodale-owned monthly magazine said its total circulation rose 5% versus the first half of 2008, but its Website saw an 89% increase in magazine subscriptions when compared with the year-ago period.

The week of June 30-July 5 gave Runner’s World a runner’s high, as its Website posted its biggest traffic week ever, with 5.49 million page views, 526,748 unique visitors and 381,649 new visitors. The site got a boost from its photo gallery featuring former Alaska Gov. and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“We are experiencing steadfast growth at www.runnersworld.com,” Runner’s World Media Group vice president Chris Lambiase said. “Online is now responsible for driving a huge percentage of subscription sales, further reinforcing the power of this integrated brand.”
