Samsung Beat DJ, Disc Get Shazam

Samsung has embedded the Shazam mobile music discovery technology in its two new music handsets, the Beat DJ and Beat Disc. The phones, unveiled at Mobile World Congress and scheduled for worldwide availability in April and May respectively, will include two new Shazam features, Find Similar and Find Tag.

Find Similar uses Shazam’s filtering technology to recommend tracks that a user may like based on music previously tagged. Shazam recommends based on the behavior of its more than 35 million users.

Find Tag lets users trace details of tracks that are already on their phone but have missing or incorrect information. Once users choose a track within Find Tag, Shazam analyzes the tune and updates it with the correct metadata.
