Sesame Street to Release Digital Comics

The Sesame Workshop, parent company to the well-known TV show and production company, will soon be releasing a line of comic books starring your favorite Sesame Street characters. The eBooks will be produced in Ape Entertainment, and are brought to you by the letter ‘y’ and the number ’4′.

“We are excited about our new relationship with Sesame Workshop to bring the Sesame Street characters to comics, which is a dream come true for all of us here at Ape,” said Ape Entertainment COO Brent E. Erwin. “Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Grover, and the whole Sesame Street gang have always been a part of our lives, now we feel like a part of their family, and that’s a great feeling.”

Ape Entertainment is also going to be producing print editions of the comics in both floppy and hardcover. The digital comics will be available via an iOS app for the iPad and iPhone.

This new deal is only Sesame Street latest venture into digital publishing, with past projects including a partnership with RH, Sesame Street eBooks made available in the Nook Store, and reading apps for the iPad and for Chrome.
