Shazam Tunes In Syfy’s Being Human

Best-known for its mobile app that allows users to identify and tag songs that are playing wherever they are, Shazam is bulking up the television ties in its arsenal, announcing a partnership with science-fiction cable network Syfy tied to new series Being Human, TechCrunch Europe reported.

The Shazam logo will be embedded into Being Human, allowing viewers to hold their mobile phones up to the television and allow the app to recognize the episode being watched, according to TechCrunch Europe. Shazam will then provide links to exclusive content such as videos, previews of upcoming episodes, playlists, downloads, and contests.

Shazam and Syfy were part of a similar partnership in September tied to the season finales of Warehouse 13 and Eureka, TechCrunch Europe reported.
