Skyfire has snagged $13 million in venture funding to expand the rollout of its mobile browser. Currently in private beta for Windows Mobile, the Skyfire browser promises to deliver the complete PC browsing experience, including Flash and Ajax, to mobile phones – at blazing fast speeds.

According to Skyfire CEO Nitin Bhandari, “Skyfire gives users the freedom to browse whatever they want, and now we can extend our efforts to get Skyfire on a significant market share of smartphones – giving more people what they hunger for.”

New investor Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round that also included prior investors Matrix Partners and Trinity Ventures.
