Hi ThinkMobile readers - all the great mobile apps, devices and reviews are now a part of mediabistro's SocialTimes.com. Thanks for reading!

slackerportable.jpgGearlog blogger Carol Mangis posted details on Slacker’s new portable radio gadget, the imaginatively-named Portable.

The Portable comes in 15, 25, and 40-station capacities. As with desktop Internet radio, you can’t control exactly what songs you hear. But the software downloads songs from your favorite artists and loads them onto your device. It also acts as a regular MP3 and WMA player for your existing music collection, and sports a huge, 4-inch color screen for displaying album art and playback details.

“The Slacker Portable Player is available for pre-order in the U.S. now at www.slacker.com at a MSRP of $199.99 (15 stations, 2GB), $249.99 (25 stations, 4GB ) and $299.99 (40 stations, 8GB) and is scheduled to ship on (or before) December 13th, 2007,” according to Gearlog.
