Sling Media said to expect a new version of its SlingPlayer Mobile client, one that supports UIQ on Symbian OS, to hit the market this summer. An upgrade of the mobile client for S60 that adds support for the Nokia N95 8GB handset will be available this spring.
The SlingPlayer Mobile client, a one-time $30 download, lets Slingbox owners watch and control their home TV on their smartphone from anywhere in the world.
Also, iLounge reports that the company is looking into an option that works with the iPhone and iPod touch. Sling’s Dave Zatz told iLounge in an e-mail that his company is “definitely one of those 100,000 who downloaded the iPhone SDK,” which they’re currently evaluating.
