The National Basketball Association’s season may be over, but its social-media efforts are in midseason form. The league announced Wednesday that its official Facebook page topped the 1 million-fan milestone, totaling 1,029,184 fans and more than tripling in growth since the start of this past season.
The NBA also has Facebook pages for the WNBA and NBA D-League, and it said the WNBA page recently topped 100,000 fans.
The NBA Twitter page is up to more than 785,000 followers since its launch in February, and Tracking Twitter said it is one of the fastest-growing pages on the social-networking site and the No. 3 brand based on followers.
And the NBA Channel on YouTube has served up more than 286 million videos since debuting in February 2007.
