Less than a month after the departure of Twitter Media chief Chloe Sladden, the social media giant has found her replacement. Katie Jacobs Stanton, previously vice president of international market development, will step into a new role as vice president of global media. Billboard Stanton will report to Gabriel Stricker, Twitter’s head of marketing, PR and global media. The move puts Stanton in charge of Twitter’s relationships with the television, sports and music industries. Re/code She has been much in demand in tech circles, especially after a stint working for the White House and also for former secretary Hillary Clinton at the State Department. For example, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer tried in 2012 to entice Stanton to run media for the Silicon Valley Internet giant. Stanton had previously worked for Mayer at Google, but no dice!

Facebook Testing Redesigned Events Page with ‘Events For You’ Section (AllFacebook)
Facebook is testing another redesign of its events page, and the most prominent new feature is an “Events for You” section, which includes public events on Facebook that users or their friends were not invited to, in places users have not checked into. Josh Constine of TechCrunch was one of the users in the social network’s test sample, and Facebook confirmed to Constine that it is testing the new layout for the events page with some users worldwide before a “mid-paced” rollout “in the coming weeks.
