A Social Networking Site You'll Actually Want Your Kids On

mixels.JPGA new social networking site designed for kids ages 6 to 12 gives its young users the freedom to go online in a safe environment, but for a small fee: Big Brother (or rather, Big Mother or Big Father) can monitor their every move.

Mixels.com grants parents full rein over their child’s profiles and online activity. Check out some of their controls:

1. Receive alerts when the child gets a friend request.
2. Delete the child’s friends.
3. Edit and delete information from the child’s profile.
4. Real Time Monitoring (This means parents can follow their child’s chats as they are happening. The website saves the chats and provides them to the parents to read at any time.)

With MySpace publicly admitting to having 90,000 convicted sexual predators on the site and cyber-bullying tragically on the rise, this seems like the alternative parents have been looking for.
