Glassdoor has released its top 25 companies for culture and values, and social media and tech companies made a good showing on the list. Twitter topped the list for 2014, with a 4.5 culture and values rating.
The ranking relies on employee ratings from the past year. Eighty-two percent of Twitter employees who reviewed the company said they would recommend it to a friend. Ninety-three percent approved of CEO Dick Costolo. According to one reviewer:
People are pretty energetic and motivated, but, fortunately, not up to the point of being aggressive or creating hierarchical cults. The overall culture is still in many ways engineer-driven. There is free food (very good) and even free beer Vacation policy is more or less “get as much as you need, provided it’s ok with your manager.”
Google came in at No. 3, followed by Facebook at No. 4. Ninety-six percent of employees approved of Google CEO Larry Page, and 95 percent thought Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is doing a good job.
Other tech companies that made the list include Apple (No. 15), Adobe (No. 20) and NetApp (No. 25). Check out the full list in the graphic below:
