Sony Pictures Television plans to bring its “minisodes” of classic 70s TV shows including “Charlie’s Angels” and “The Jeffersons” to mobile phones through a deal with Verizon Wireless, according to a new MediaPost report.
The episodes will play on a separate V-CAST channel and run from four to six minutes in length each.
Since debuting on MySpace in June, Sony’s Minisode Network has drawn 3.25 million views, according to MediaPost. “Verizon has forged deals with a roster of media partners to date including CBS, NBC, MTV and TV Guide for mobile content on V-Cast.”
