Interesting speculation over at TechRadar…
Skype heading to Nintendo DSi?
TechRadar bases this speculation on a comment from someone from Skype who said it is possible to run Skype on the DSi. I’m actually surprised the Skype person said that much versus the usual “we don’t comment on unannounced products”.
Technically, even the earlier Nintendo DS and DS Lite were capable of supporting Voice over IP. However, both of those models require dedicated application cartridges to provide that feature. The new DSi model, on the other hand, has the ability to download and install software over the air (OTA). In other words, no dedicated cartridge is needed.
