Sporting News Baseball App Hits iPhone

Major league baseball’s opening day is here, and so is a new iPhone app to help fans follow their favorite teams.

SportingNews.com has teamed with Zumobi to launch Sporting News Baseball, a free app that delivers scores, standings, stats, league and team news, player info, recaps and exclusive fantasy league content. The app also provides access to exclusive news and content from the Sporting News baseball blog.

Baseball fans with favorite players on multiple teams can create a virtual team to follow just those players and their stats. There’s also a feature for tracking the league’s top pitchers by wins, saves, innings pitched, strikeouts and earned run average. Hitters can be tracked by runs, RBIs, home runs, average, steals and other stats that elude all but the most diehard fans.

Sporting News Baseball is ready for download from the iTunes App Store.
