Starwood Hotels just launched a new mobile site for its Starwood Preferred Guest members, which can be reached by keying in www.SPG.com from any cell phone web browser. The new site, powered by Usablenet, lets users do just about anything they’d do on the desktop version of the Starwood Preferred Guest website, including features like booking reservations, contacting customer care, and account management.
Mobile users can also view the company’s Lobby blog and search the entire hotel directory to browse before booking. For its part, Usablenet now powers mobile sites for Choice Hotels, Four Seasons, Hilton, Marriott, and Omni Hotels in addition to Starwood Hotels. This is a pretty natural application for cell phones given its travel focus, and the potential to grab last minute info en route without having to power up a laptop or take notes beforehand.
