Stat a new startup hopes to be to ambulances what Uber is to cars. The idea is that users will be able to order up a non-emergency medical transportation to their door from the app.
Check it out: “Whether your mom needs a wheelchair van in Florida for her dialysis appointment or a patient needs an ambulance transport across town, just select your transport type and push request – and we’ll do the rest.”
The app uses geolocation to find a user and match them with an ambulance in their area. The app has a map that lets users see which ambulances are available in their area in real time and watch their ride come towards them. It’s already in beta in Philadelphia, and the developers hope to expand to additional cities soon.
