Stevie iPhone App Turns Your Twitter And Facebook Feeds Into A TV Show

Stevie, the “social TV” platform that launched over the summer, has closed a $1.5 million funding round and is bringing their platform, which turns your Twitter and Facebook feeds into a personalized TV show, to the iPhone.

The $1.5 million Series A funding round comes from Horizons Ventures and, according to a press release, “will be used to further develop Stevie’s broadcast experience and content delivery technologies.”

Stevie CEO Yael Givon told me via email that, “At the heart of Stevie is its context engine that matches content to viewer.  This year, along with distribution to new platforms, we will be focusing on progress in this matching system—bringing in more content sources, more customization and some killer channels.”

Today Stevie is also announcing its launch on the iPhone.  The free app, which is available in the App Store, brings Stevie’s broadcast of your personal social network feeds to the palm of your hand.  The iPhone app joins Stevie’s current iPad, Web and Windows 8 apps and the company is working to bring Stevie to Xbox, Android and connected TVs in the future.

Givon says, “Since our launch at TechCrunch Disrupt NYC 2012, we have been continuously working on bridging the gap we see between social content and the broadcast experience.  We are exciting to use this additional funding to make Stevie the definitive social, personal TV experience.”
