Get Your Fix Of Super Bowl Commercials On Hulu AdZone

Well folks, it’s almost that time of year again—the one where we all don jerseys, gather in living rooms in front of television sets with nachos, beer and humungous sandwiches to watch…commercials!  Yep!  Super Bowl Commercial Season is in full swing, and today Hulu AdZone, Hulu’s dedicated destination for Super Bowl ads, kicks off in anticipation of the big game.

On hulu.com/adzone you can currently watch the top Super Bowl ads going back from 2012 through 2008, but they’ll be updating Hulu AdZone with 2013 commercials and teaser ads as they begin popping up online.

Meredith Kendall, Senior Communications Manager at Hulu, explains more about AdZone on the Hulu blog:

“Watch, share and vote for your favorite Super Bowl ads during the big game.  As soon as one team takes home the title of Super Bowl champion on Sunday, Feb. 3, we’ll tally the votes and announce your pick for the best ads of Super Bowl 2013 and share our picks for the best celebrity cameos, cutest critters and more.

“And if you’re craving another wing or grabbing a cold one during the commercial break and miss that ad that will have everyone talking, have no fear – with Hulu AdZone mobile experience you can visit hulu.com/adzone from your mobile device to pull up that ad and watch, vote, share, Tweet and ‘like’ to your heart’s content (you’ll just need a Facebook account to cast your vote).”

Over the past few years, as online video has grown in popularity, it has become commonplace for brands to release their Super Bowl ads (or at least teasers for them) on YouTube and other online video sites prior to game day.  The barrage of Super Bowl commercials hasn’t hit the web just yet, but is expected to begin any day now.

That being said, not all big brands are sticking to the approach of posting their commercials online early to build buzz.  Mars told AdAge that they will not be releasing their M&Ms spot early this year.  Roy Benin, chief consumer officer for Mars Chocolate North America says, “We are continuing with what we call our surprise-and-delight approach.  There’s that first-time, premier reveal [in game] that we believe is compelling.”
