The Huffington Post is concerned about your health: New section HuffPost Health launched Monday, focused on health and wellness and featuring news and perspectives from doctors, practitioners, scientists, and patients.

Bloggers on HuffPost Health will include: Laura Ziskin, a cancer survivor and cofounder of Stand Up to Cancer; Massachusetts Institute of Technology researcher Judith Wurtzman; Andrew Weil, M.D.; Thomas Goetz, executive editor of Wired and author of The Decision Tree: Taking Control of Your Health in the New Era of Personalized Medicine; Kris Carr, cancer survivor and author of Crazy Sexy Cancer; and Mehmet Oz, M.D.

Co-founder and editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington said:

I’m delighted that our health coverage is getting its own section. Our approach to matters of sickness and health has changed radically over the past few decades. We no longer approach our health as a passive experience — one where we sit back, allow ourselves to be poked, prodded, examined, receive the verdict, and compliantly go along with whatever the High Priests of Medicine say. We’ve become partners in our medical care. Because of this, making sure we have the latest information and the fullest understanding of ourselves and our health is vital. HuffPost Health’s goal is to inform, enlighten, challenge, inspire, and help our community make educated decisions about their health and well-being.
