When Twitter launched its new interface last month, members of the press were all over it. To find out how the average user was reacting to the new features, market research startup Ask Your Target Market surveyed 400 Twitter users, both male and female, who were between the ages of 15 and 100 years old and made less than $500,000 per year. Of those who responded to the survey, 29.3% felt that the new interface was an improvement, while 58% didn’t have an opinion at all, suggesting that most people who saw it, liked it, and the rest probably haven’t looked. Crashes and outages were the number one specific complaint about the site, followed by the limitations on customizing user profiles. Respondents weren’t asked to comment on specific new features, like embedded media. Although 33% of users thought Twitter would be successful 5 years from now, only 4.5% of them would most like to own the company’s stock, compared to the 32% of people who would put their money on Facebook. (Google was No. 1, with 37.3% of the vote). To see the full survey, click here.
