T-Mobile Android-based Motorola CLIQ Available for Pre-order on Oct. 19-Too Expensive at $199 IMHO

T-Mobile Announces Upcoming Availability of Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR

The Moto CLIQ will be available got pre-sale from T-Mobile for $199.99 with a 2-year contract starting on October 19. It will actually available starting on November 2. There’s a lot to like about this Android based phone. First, it has a physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It also has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera. And, it has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. On the negative side it cames with a mere (by today’s standards) 2GB of storage (removeable microSD card). The $99 iPhone 3G has 8GB while the 16GB iPhone 3GS matches the CLIQ’s $199 price.

The CLIQ will probably sell relatively well. But, it would fly off the shelves had it been priced at, for example, $79.99.
