A friend and co-worker received his T-Mobile G2 Android phone yesterday. Emil was kind enough to let me play with it. You can see my ~95 second recorded visual tour of the G2 in the video embedded above. The G2 seemed more responsive than my Nexus One or Droid. Its keyboard sliding mechanism worked well. And, the keyboard itself looked and felt good (much better than the Droid’s awful keyboard). The only big disappointment based on my few minutes of investigation was the total lack of tethering. You can see the G2 (left) and my Nexus One (right) in the photo below. The Nexus One (right) has a “Tethering & portable hotspot” option in between “Bluetooth Settings” and “VPN Settings”. You can see that the G2 (left) does not.
