The Seattle Times reported that…
T-Mobile launches 3G USB modem
As you can see from their photo, it is about the size of a conventional USB flash drive. It has a microSD slot on the side so that, I assume, it can be used as a flash drive too (if you purchase a microSD card to place in the slot). It apparently includes some kind of software meter (presumably only for Microsoft Windows) that warns you after you’ve used 80% of your 5GB per month data bandwidth. The 5GB/month service costs $59.99.
The article also reports that T-Mobile claims they rolled out their 3G network to 130 cities by the end of 2008 and plan to roll it out to an additional 100 cities by the end of 2009. However, when I checked on the prospects of 3G in my hometown, there were no plans in place. Oh well…
